Abstract: High inorganic waste from human activity surrounding Ambon Bay could lead to water pollution in that area since that kind of waste almost impossible to be degraded. The objective of this study were to identify composition and density of inorganic waste from some river found in Ambon Bay. Waste samples were collected using Line Intercept Transect method. Kind of waste (garbage) identified in this study were as follows: plastics, rubber, woods/timber, empty can, clothes, and broken glasses/bottle. Total highest density of human waste/garbage was found at Waiheru River. Of all sorts of garbage type, plastics was the highest one and found at all river mouth observed with Waiheru was the highest density amounted for 3.26 pieces m-2 followed respectively by Wairhuhu with 2.29 pieces m-2, Wai Batu Merah with 2.22 pieces m-2, Waitomu with 1.32 pieces m-2, and Wailela with 0.92 pieces m-2. With the increase in population number which lead to increase in the use of plastic materials will further increase plastic waste density in Ambon Bay.
