Abstract: Experimental studies conducted to investigate the effect of a flat plate with a characteristic length of heat transfer of natural convection. The study was conducted by varying the heat load (Q*) at 300-400 W, with the characteristic length (Le) = 0,4 m and the temperature surrounding 28 oC is constant. The study shows the increasing heat load (Q*), the optimum heat transfer characteristics occurs at Q* = 400 W and a minimum at Q* = 300 W. Increasing the heat load (Q*) < 400 W, the heat transfer characteristics of the accelerated namely; Rayleigh number (Ra) rose 77,43%, Nusselt number (Nu) rose 88.02%, convective coefficient (h) rose 86.74% and convection heat transfer rate (qconv) rose 61.93%.
