Abstract: The passenger cargo ship which has ∆ = 350 ton and 37 meter in length between perpendicular was prolong in 4 meter in the midlle. The ship owner does not understand that if ship will be prolong than it will affect the strength of the structure especially the longitudinal strength of ship. Based on the requirement of ship owner, the target of prolong of that ship is to increase the dead weight capacity; by means the income will also be increase. That is economic aspect consideration, but technically, it will be increase the longitudinal load distribution on the ship structure. Consequently the bending moment occurred will also be increase. Based on the of Indonesia Classification Rule - BKI, compression and tension stress respectively are 750 - 1100 kg/cm2 and 1000 - 1650 kg/cm2. Theoretically calculation, after increasing the length of ship, the stress on the bottom and the the deck of the ship are 102 kg/cm2. It means the strength of the structural construction of ship is in safe condition.
