| Abstract: | These research objectives are to analyze the competitiveness copra in world markets. By descriptive analysis method, the quantitative and qualitative data which are secondary time series data from year 1980-2005, are evaluated. The data used are exported and imported data of copra products included the Indonesian world classification of quantity and prices, GDP data, the population of people in importing country and, the currency exchange rate of US dollars to IDR during the sample period. The result indicates that: 1) Indonesia has a high competitive advantage for copra , based on RCA Indicator index of copra > 1. The Average rate index of copra are 14,440 which means that Indonesian export for copra have high market share compared to the average of world market share. AR index for copra is 2775. It means that Indonesia have strong market segment for export because its value of AR>1. The average of ISP for copra is 0.5. It means that Indonesia is going into export expansion phase. Which means that Indonesia have a competitive advantage and have a tendency to became an exported country; and 2) Export demand of Indonesian copra indicates a positive trend but from export prices side indicates a negative trend. |
