Abstract: A pot experiment in the green house was designed to investigate the effect of sago pith waste compost and urea fertilizer on the improvement of physical characteristics of regosol and the growth of mustard crop. The experiment used 4 x 4 factorial of Completely Randomized Design using 3 replications. The first factor was B0 (no sago pith waste), B1(100 g.pot-1), and B2 (200 g.pot-1) of sago pith waste compost; the second factor was U0 ( no urea), U1 (0.326 g.pot-1) and U2 (0.652 g.pot-1) of urea fertilizer. The experiment showed that the application of sago pith waste compost and urea has significant effect on the soil bulk density, particle density, soil porosity, fast drainage pores, slow drainage pores, available water pores, unavailable water pores, total soil-N, and height of plant. Meanwhile, the urea fertilizer has no significant effect on the soil bulk density, porosity, slow drainage pores, unavailable water pores, and height of plant.
