Abstract: The objective of this research was to find out the population of total bacteria, fungi, Azotobacter sp and phosphate solubilizing bacteria as affected by tofu's waste and bioactivator in compost. Experiment was set up in factorial Randomized Block Design consisted of two factors and three replications. The first factor was tofu's waste consisted of three levels (0 g; 100 g; 200 g kg-1 of compost), and the second factor was bioactivator consisted of three levels (2.5 mL; 1.9 mL; 1.3 mL kg-1 of compost). Results showed that there were an interaction effects between tofu's waste and bioactivator in order to increase population of total bacteria, fungi, Azotobacter sp and phosphate solubilizing bacteria. The combination of 100 g kg-1 tofu's waste and 2.5 mL kg-1 bioactivator significantly increased population of total bacteria and fungi as well as phosphate solubilizing bacteria and Azotobacter sp. This experiment suggest that tofu's waste and bioactivator could enhace microbiological quality of compost.
