Abstract:	Gandaria (Bouea macrophylla Griff) is well-known as one of native typical fruits in Mollucas which is necessary to be preserved and continuously cultivated because it is economically and ecologically significant. The research was aimed to identify the cultivation of gandaria in Hative Besar, which is well-known as a production centre of gandaria in Ambon. The research was done in February to March 2013 using survey and interview methods. The result showed that: 1) gandaria in the research location grow in backyard of the settlement and "dusun" (traditional agroforestry); 2) Two species of gandaria in the location were distinguished based on color of ripe fruits: yellow and orange; 3) Cultivation of gandaria in the location was done about 100 years ago and still done traditionally until now; and 4) Cultivation of gandaria in the location is sustainable because of the usefulness of the tree.
