Abstract: Chemistry aspect not yet much investigated and explained until now is the potassium absorption and its relation with zero point of charge (ZPC). To answer this problem, this research had already been done in two locations namely in Kobisonta and Kayeli. The soil chemistry analysis was done in Soil Laboratory of UNHAS Agriculture Faculty, Makassar. The result showed that at Tidal flat soil area of Kobisonta beach location, ZPC value of sapric decomposition level was 4.23, followed by hemic 4.26 and the last was febric 4.46, but at Kayeli soil location sapric decomposition level had ZPC value of 4.99, ZPC value of hemic decomposition level was 4.11 and ZPC value of febric decomposition level was 4.54. Maximum K absorption at Kayeli beach location was higher (average 2025 μg.g-1) than maximum absorption of Kobisonta beach (average 1978 μg.g-1). On the same pH of soil with ZPC, soil of Kayeli beach location with sapric decomposition level had higher potassium absorption than the other decomposition levels, reversely of this condition happened in soil of Kobisonta beach location.
