Abstract: Have tested the effectiveness of ethanol extract of betel leaf (Piper betle L.) on mortality of larvae of Anopheles mosquitoes and Culex sp, to determine the concentration of ethanol extract of betel leaf (Piper betle L.) are effective against mosquito larvae mortality of Anopheles sp. and Culex sp and LC50 for 24 hours. This study used completely randomized design with 4 treatments extracts are: 0.01%, 0.03%, 0.05%, 0.07% and 1 negative control group with 3 replications. The results were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance and followed by LSD test at the 0.05% level. Data analysis using SPSS 15.0 for Windows. The results showed that the ethanol extract of betel leaf (Piper betle L) were effective against larvae of Anopheles and Culex sp indicated by the increasing number of larval mortality. Effective concentration to kill 50% of larvae of Anopheles and Culex sp sp (LC50) in the amount of 0.012% and 0.011%. Therefore, the ethanol extract of betel leaf (Piper betle L) potential to be developed as biolarvaside.
