Abstract: Nutmeg is the dominant crop cultivated by people in the Morela village. The purpose of this study was to analyze the nutmeg commodity marketing channels in Morella village, to find out marketing margin obtained by each marketing agency and to find out the marketing efficiency of nutmeg. The number of samples taken was 23 growers from the total of 157 nutmeg farmers which was determined randomly. Furthermore, respondents were purposively selected such us village traders, district traders, province traders, and inter island traders. The results showed that there were 3 models of nutmeg marketing channels. From those models, 2 models were the shorter because only one marketing channel was involved. Moreover, the highest marketing margin was obtained by inter island traders as much as Rp. 20.000/kg. From those 3 models the most efficient model was model 2 because its marketing channel was shorter. The shorter the marketing channel, the bigger the share received by farmers. Share received by farmers in model 2 was 88 %, while for model 1 and 3 respectively were 83 % and 80 %. However, by shortening the marketing channels, the costs will be incurred as a results of extra activities during the marketing process.
