Abstract: Isolation of Bacillus thuringiensis and pathogenicity test against Crocidolomia binotalis Zell. (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) was conducted at Entomology Laboratory Faculty of Biology Gadjah Mada University. C. binotalis was reared on cabbage for stock culture. The B. thuringiensis was isolated from Kopeng and Ngablak, Central Java using Aizawa method. Pathogenisity test using dipped method of Hamilton and Atia with multilevel concentration spores of B. thuringiensis. Test insect consisted of third instars larvae. Probit analysis was used to determine LC50 and LT50.There were two isolates of B. Thuringiensis obtained, namely isolate Kp from Kopeng and Nb from Ngablak. All of isolates were able killed of C. binotalis larva at 48 hours after treatment, ranging from 3 to 87% depending on the concentration level. The result of probit analysis showed that Kp isolate had the highest pathogenicity (LC50 = 2.22 x 105 spore ml-1) and Nb with LC50 values of 1.06 x 106 spore ml-1. The lowest LT50 value was showed by Nb (LT50 = 82.5 hours) and the highest LT50 value was Kp (LT50 = 92.2 hours). The two isolates are recognized to be highly potential for biological control agents.
