Abstract: The banana is a tropical fruit that has been popular in the community, and the potential for development in Indonesia. There are many varieties of bananas growing wild or cultivated by the people. This causes the difference in character between each type. Differences can be seen from the appearance of the plant such as pseudo-stem, leaves, flowers, and fruit. That difference is important to note the kinship between the type of information that can be obtained early in repairing genetic trait that will produce new varieties of plants with more unggulPenelitian aims to analyze kinship fenetik varieties of banana (Musa sp) on the island of Ambon. Methods: The study was conducted in December 2012 through May 2013 with the location of Ambon Island research and exploration method based guidelines banana descriptors of the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI, 1996). Result: The study showed that there are seven varieties were found and identified as banana forty days, Jawaka, Kepok, green Ambon, King, Gold and Horn with varying morphological appearance and formed two main clusters with kinship near and far. Conclusion: Bananas on Ambon Island has characterized so many potential sources of variability that need to be revealed more.
