Abstract:	Estimation of chlorophyll a concentration in Kayely Gulf Buru Island has been done by using Landsat 7/ETM+ image. The analysis result using Dwivedi dan Narain (1987) dan Wouthuyzen (1991) algorithms showed the similarity in term of chlorophyll a phytoplankton concentration. The high value was found in dense mangrove ecosystem and the area near live coral while the lower concentration was found in the inner gulf area and tended to decrese towards the outer gulf. As a result, The Kayeli gulf can support Chlorophyll a to surrounding waters. Statistically, there is no significant for Chlorophyll a value derived from both algorithms. This result might be caused by different atmospheric conditions and sea characteristics on that algorithm been built with assessed seawater.
