Abstract: Research about the abundance of bacteria on broiler chicken meat sold at Mardika Traditional market in Ambon have a purpose to find out the abundance of bacteria on broiler chicken meat which sold in the market. The presence of bacteria on broiler chicken meat affected by place, position, tool and sanitation where the broiler chicken sold. The result of sample test at that market, by PCA (Plate Count Agar) method shown that 4,54 x 〖10〗^5 CFU bacteria are found in each gram of broiler chicken meat. In comparison with specification of maximum levelfor safety totalmicrobe on broiler chicken meat by SNI 01-6366-2000, so the result is persent on the float level about 1x 〖10〗^4 CFU/gram.
