Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the effect of work stress on affective commitment, normative commitment and continuant commitment and analyze the role of locus of control in moderate the relationship between job stress with organizational commitment affective commitment, normative commitment and continuant commitment) employees Private Hospital in the city of Ambon. The population in this study are employees of the Sumber Hidup Hospital, Al Fatah Hospital and Bakti Rahayu Hospital. The sample size that was used in this study were 70 employees. The results showed that job stress negatively affect affective commitment and normative commitment but job stress positive effect on continuant commitment at Private Hospital in Ambon Town. The results also showed that the relationship between job stress with affective commitment, normative commitment and continuant commitment can be stronger if moderated by locus of control.
