| Abstract: | One of the constraints facing agricultural development in Maluku is transport constraints due to the geographical conditions. Lack of transportation facilities and infrastructure, climate that is less friendly at certain times, and the amount of extension worker that is still less often be the bottleneck in implementing agricultural development activities, including agricultural extension, while agricultural extension have important role in advancing the agricultural sector. The role of extension is not just limited to the transfer of technology alone but it was time to move on farmer participation and the largest portion of any agricultural policy is to build the capacity of farmers. This role will be made possible if supported by adequate infrastructure, especially the agricultural extension system that can strengthen the sub systems of agricultural extension where the extension worker in it, as mandated in Undang-undang No.16/2006. To strengthen the role of agricultural extension providers in the geographic conditions that are less supportive, cyber extension can be an option. |
