Abstract: Gandaria (Bouea macrophylla) is a fruit that has the potential to be cultivated in the Moluccas. Recently, the population of Gandaria plant has been decreased as a result of weeds that impeded the growth of gandaria, especially in the nursery phase and the phase of immature plants. The identification of weeds is the first step in controlling weeds, however until now there has been no research on the influence of weed communities in Gandaria planting area yet. Therefore, a research on weed composition in Gandaria planting area is important as the base of an accurate weeds control. This research was conducted on hilly area in Urimessing village, Nusaniwe. The result of the research is based on Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR), the points were obtained from young plants and productive plants. The result showed that the perennial broad leaves weeds had a bigger SDR point than the annual weeds. Thus, these weeds can be controlled by mechanical means in 2-3 week intervals and chemical control using systemic herbicides to suppress the perennial broad leaves weeds.
