Abstract: Muntingia calabura L. is a tropical plant that spread almost all over the world, and useful to human health. Utilization of these plants as a traditional medicine is believed due to its content of a number of compounds essential for health. Endophytic microbes that live inside plant tissues are often used as biological control agents. This study aimed to isolate and select endophytic bacteria from the roots, stems, and leaves of plants cherry as a biocontrol agent. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Nematology, Bogor Agricultural University. The results showed that isolates of endophytic bacteria AK5 and DK3 potentially as a plant growth promoting, while the other isolates did not. Additionally, BK6 isolates were suspected as biological agents with potential as a percentage inhibition of 77%, but the isolates were not potential as agents of plant growth promoting.
