Abstract:	Mitsubishi L 300 is a car using Diesel engine as it is driven engine. Because of long time operation, the car's chassis and body was damaged by corrosion but the engine still normally working. In order to use the engine as main engine of small cruise ship, it must be determined appropriate dimensions of the ship. The objective of this research is to determined appropriate dimensions of the ship by calculated total resistance, boundary speed and effective power of five small cruise ships as references. From the research result it is find that the Mitsubishi L 300 Diesel engine can be used to drive a small cruise ship with a length of the entire ship (LOA): 17.68 m, the length of water line (LWL): 17.00, hull height (T): 1.46 m, width of the vessel (B): 3.58 m, deck height (H): 2.01 m to rise speed of 8 knots.
