Abstract: This study examined the effects of land-use change in Ciliwung watershed on the level of surface runoff. Volume of surface runoff was analyzed by the approach of watershed surface runoff coefficient. For the requirement of simulation, the volume of surface runoff was estimated in every type of land-use with the method of curve number according to Soil Conservation Service - USDA (1986 cited by LMNO, 1999; Arsyad, 2006). To assess the effect of land-use change related with other factors on surface runoff, the regression stepwise procedures and best subsets regression were used. Types of land-use were determined from land-use maps produced by the National Soil Bureau (BPN) DKI Jakarta in 1950, 1970, 1998 and field survey in 2003. Results showed that in three decades the area of land-use vegetation covers decreased, meanwhile building areas increased, which increased the surface runoff. The analysis with the stepwise regression procedure and best subsets regression showed that the annual rainfall and soil infiltration capacity influenced significantly on the runoff in Ciliwung
