Abstract: Sago processing wastes obtained from the pulp / the rest of sago starch extraction, known as "ela sago". Ela sago is an organic material with a ratio C/N is high and can be used as organic fertilizer if through the decomposition process. Ela sago was decomposed with promi activator here in after referred "Elakom-P". Study of the utilization of ela sago as organic fertilizer (Elakom-P) in maize in agro-ecosystems dryland in Maluku aimed at getting the recommendations package of balanced fertilization technology in maize with using organic fertilizers ela sago (Elakom-P) for efficiency use of inorganic fertilizer and increase productivity corn in agro-ecosystem dry land in Maluku. Field research was conducted in farmers' fields at two different locations (Village Mesa and KP Makariki) and lasted from January to December 2012. Research carried out by the farmer three persons cooperators, namely Mesa Village (districts TNS) as much as one farmer and KP Makariki, Hamlet Sion, Village Makariki much as two farmers. This study used a randomized block design with eight treatments and repeated three times (farmers as replicates). The treatment dose of fertilizer consists of: Po = without fertilizer; P1 = organic fertilizer Elakom-P 2 t ha-1 + 0 % recommendations of inorganic fertilizer (90 N + 90 P2O5 + 60 K2O); P2 = organic fertilizer Elakom-P 2 t ha-1 + 25 % recommendations of inorganic fertilizer; P3 = organic fertilizer Elakom-P 2 t ha-1 + 50 % recommendations of inorganic fertilizer; P4 = organic fertilizer Elakom-P 2 t ha-1 + 75 % recommendations of inorganic fertilizer; P5 = organic fertilizer Elakom-P 4 t ha-1 (without inorganic fertilizers); P6 = 100 % recommendations of inorganic fertilizer without organic fertilizer Elakom-P; P7 = organic fertilizer Elakom-P 2 t ha-1 + compound fertilizer (NPK = 15-15-15). Treatment plot size was 6 m x 4 m. Maize varieties is Krishna planted at a spacing of 75 cm x 40 cm (two seeds/hole). Other cultivation technology components implemented with PTT model approach. The results showed that the use of organic fertilizers ela sago (Elakom-P) in maize in dryland agro-ecosystem can save 25-50 % of inorganic fertilizers, on the other hand can increase the productivity of maize by 35-105% compared with the existing productivity at the farm level in Maluku. Decomposition ell raw sago with promi activator into organic fertilizer (Elakom-P) requires of time the fastest 2 months, can reduce levels of C/N by 41 % (from 46.56 into 27.08), organic-C decreased 65 % (from 38.18 % to 13.27 %), while the pH of fertilizer increased by 23 % (on a scale of 6 to 7).
