Abstract: The purpose of this research was to know the influence of the cutting explant banana (Musa paradisiaca) c.v. Ketan and the addition of several concentrations of coconut water on the growth and development of in vitro exsplants. This research was carried out in the laboratory of Biotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, from August 2013 to November 2013. This study used a Randomized Complete Design (RAL) with two factors. The first factor was the cutting eksplan (b) consisting of two levels, namely exsplant without slashing eksplan (b1) and (b2) halved. The second factor was the coconut water (e), which consists of six levels, namely 0% (e1), 3% (e2), 10% (e3), 3% (e4), 20% (e5) and 25% (e6). Each treatment was repeated as many as 3 times so that there were 36 units.The observation was done every day on growing buds time and each week on the number of buds, height of shoots as well as at the end of the observation on the percentage of living explant, the percentage of contaminated explant, the percentage of dead explant and the percentage of forming roots. Cutting explant did not influence banana. Giving coconut water influenced on the time of growing buds, number of buds and height of shoots of banana. The best coconut water coconut water was at concentration of 20% MS media.
