Abstract: Plutella xylostella L. (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae) is a major pest of plant family Brassicaceae (Cruciferae). Larvae attack the lower surface of leaf, eat the flesh leaf so the epidermis shown up. Typical symptom is leaf shows irregular windows which later break down to form holes and only main veins that left behind. Chemical control is usually done to control this pest but in the long term it will have negative impacts. Beauveria bassiana (Balls.) Vuill is an enthomophagous fungus that effective against lepidopteran larvae and could be used as environmentally friendly biological control agents. The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of bioinsecticide BbAss Strains 725 against P. xylostella larvae in the laboratory. Research was conducted in the laboratory of Plant Pests Faculty of Agriculture, Pattimura University. Completely randomized design was used with five treatments of concentrations of BbAss Strain 725 and 3 replications. Each treatment was applied on 10 third instar larvae of P. xylostella, by larval drenching and food (leaf) spraying methods. Parameters measured were the symptoms of infected larvae, larval mortality and advanced stage of treated larvae. The results showed that the bioinsecticide (BbAss) Strain 725 concentration of 0.1% (w / v) effective against third instar larvae of P. xylostella with 60.00% larval mortality on 48 h after treatment of larval drenching and 76.68% on 72 h after treatment of food spraying.
