Abstract: Background: cooperative learning is an instructional model that can enable the students. Students are encouraged to collaborate in certain activities so that students are required to share information with other students to teach each other and learn from them. In cooperative learning, students were divided into groups consisting of two or more people. One model of learning is learning model cooperative role type of playing. Methods: This study was conducted in January 2015-February 2015. The method used is the method of classroom action research (PTK). Techniques such as achievement test conducted before and after the learning activity is completed. The instrument used was a test of learning outcomes in the form of multiple choice with five options as much as 30 items. The population in this study were all class XI IPA SMAN 9 Ambon consisting of 3 classes. 3 classes of the population, is used as a sample of 2 class XI IPA 2 as an experimental class, and XI IPA 1 as the control class. Results: Class experiments using cooperative learning model playing Role had an average pre-test 1=1 .31, post-test = 27.08, and grade control using direct instruction model had an average pre-test = 12.22, post test = 22.91. The results showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes of students who use cooperative learning model Role playing using the concept of the human digestive system in class XI IPA SMAN 9 Ambon. Conclusion: There is an increase in student learning outcomes yang proses learning using cooperative learning model type talk think write on the concept of human excretion system in class XI IPA SMAN 9 Ambon.
