| Abstract: | Sopi is traditional drink of Malucas province that often consumed in activities related to the customs event. Tradisional drink of sopi actually from fermented Arenga pinnata which has undergone distillation. Nigella sativa oil is antioxidant compound has the effect that serves to prevent cellular dam- age. Objective: The effect of Nigella sativa oil in the motility and total count of spermatozoa Sprague dawley rats exposed to traditional drink sopi. Method: Experimental research with the design of post test only control group design. Spraguey dawley rats consists of 24 head and divided into 4 groups consist of control group and treatment group. The first treatment was give sopi everydays as much 4 ml dose for 16 days, the second treatment was give sopi everydays as much 4 ml dose for 16 days followed by administratied of Nigella sativa oil everydays as much with 1 ml dose for 17 days, the three treatments were give sopi everydays as much 4 ml dose for 16 days followed by administratied distilled water for 17 days. Statistic test for sperm motility on Sprague dawley rats use the Kruskal-Wallis followed by Mann Whitney test, while total count of spermatozoa Sprague dawley rats use a test One Way Anova. Result: average value of motility in the treated group sopi (21.67) lower than controls (46.67) and the treatment of sopi+Nigella sativa oil (48.33) higher than sopi+aquades (36.67).Result of Kruskal-Wallis (p=0.011) there were significant differences (p<0.05). While the average total count of spermatozoa in the treated group sopi (145.83) lower than control (187.50) and sopi+Nigella sativa oil (191.67) higher than sopi+aquades (145.83). Conclusion: Administration of Nigella sativa oil occur to repair the motility and total count of spermatozoa Sprague dawley rats expose to tradisional drink sopi. |
