Abstract: The typical farmers cocoa-plantation is mostly irregular in plant space, the trees are not formed, as a result the trees are tall and the fruit position is relatively high above the soil surface. Because the fruit position can not be reached by hand, fruit wrapping become a constraint to prevent attack of cocoa pod borer (Conopomorpha cramerella ), hence, an aid is needed. An observation of 90 samples of cocoa trees in Amahai Sub-District, Central Maluku District, revealed that 60% of fruits were unreached by hands of adult men (> 180 cm). Cocosliver, an automatic wrapper-aid was very useful to ease the work of cocoa-fruit wrapping with plastic bag. Efficacy of the fruit wrapping against pest of C. cramerella was ca. 97.38%. Yield of dried cocoa-seeds on wrapping treatment was 4.12 kg 100 pods-1 and is significantly higher than yield on control i.e. 2.60 kg 100 pods-1.
