Abstract: Objective: Pregnant women are one of the groupsat risk for infection by the malaria parasite in endemic areas" The impacts of malaria in pregnancyare such as anemia and severe malaria that can cause death­ for mother, fetusand new born. Clinical symptoms that are likely to be not typical until asymptomaticin pregnancy are one of the obstaclesin diagnosing malaria in pregnancyin endemic areas. Diagnosis malaria in pregnant women using microscopeis limited because P. falciparum parasite saremore present in the placenta than inperipheral blood, in contrast to P. vivax. RDTSDBIOLINEP.f/Panis one of the WHO recommendation son the RDT product onround 1-4 and has been use din Maluku. This tool is able to detectantigens of the Plasmodium metabolism results inperipheral blood so that it is. regarded moresensitive than microscope" The use of RDTSDBIOLINEP.f,Pan 05 FK 60 from Korea for the detection of P. falciparum HRP-2 antigen and P. vivax, P. malariae, P. ovalep-LDH antigen has not been previous lyevaluatedin the Province of Maluku, The research objective wasto evaluatethe sensitivity and spesificity of RDTSDBIOLINEP.f/Pan 05 FK 60 compared with microscopic examination as thegold standard for the diagnosis of malariain pregnancyin Maluku Methods: This was a diagnostic test of malariain pregnant women. The study was conductedin Ambon City health centerand Haulussy Arnbon Local Hospital. Sample data, the data of pregnancy, RDT result sand microscopic result son the field were recorded in the questionnaire. The preparations of microscopic field were also collected to do examination in the Laboratory of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, Gadjah Mada University. Results: The results showed that RDTSDBIOLINEP.f/Pan 05 FK 60 had the sensitivity 80%, spesificity 100%, PPV (Positive Predictive Value) 100%, NPV (Negative Predictive Value) 98% compared with micoscopic as thegold standard. Conclusion: RDTSDBIOLINEP.f/Panwas lesssensitive to be usedas diagnostic test of malariain pregnant patient sin the Province ofMaluku as malaria endemic areas.
