Abstract: Quality of the ferro cement layer is the main priority to protection the surface of hull ship under the water line from damage. The application of factorial experimental design method can solve this problem with be used the coconut bark fruit as the material additional in to mix up the ferro cement it self. This research uses Factorial Experimental Design method with three main factors : three levels sand material treatment (factor A), two levels of drying process (factor B), and five levels of material matching of sand, cement and additional material of coconut bark fruit as factor C. Statistical test in this study uses multivariance ANOVA test and combines with Student-Newman-Keuls (S-N-K) test to determine the divergence of the three factors correspond to compression strength of the paving block. The research shows that, the value of the ferro cement layers average compression strength is : 470.82 KN more than the value of the ferro cement layer's average compression strength that had be maked by traditional worker at the wood ship.
