Abstract: An experimental study was conducted to investigate the effect of type and thickness insulation for natural convection of heat transfer coefficient convective on clove drying oven. Investigation was made on the range of varying thickness insulation (dx) at 1 to 4 cm with a constant head load (Q*) at 600 W and surrounding temperature at 28 degree Celsius. Rayleigh number (Ra), Nusselt number (Nu) and coefficient convective (h) resulted in the increase of acceleration at 1.32, 1.07 and 1.08 percentage, respectively on clove drying oven after modification. Before modification clove drying oven its increase too with enlargement Tro i.e. 1.54, 1.11 and 1.18 percentage, respectively.
