Abstract:	This research was aimed to assess the potential of demersal to rehabilitate and protect coral reef habitats. Some of the economic fisheries in the waters of the North of Ambon Island, and analyze the opportunities for demersal fisheries business economic development through the application of alternative fishing technologies. This reseacrh uses the interview and field survey approach. The results showed that the potential of demersal fish resources in the research area is still quite potential to be developed, although it needs to be followed by efforts aspects studied also showed that demersal fisheries business are promising to be developed to increase the income of demersal fishers in the area.
