Abstract: The winding rotor of three phase induction motor connected in the delta is one of the electrical loads that produce a low power factor. The magnetic field is not useful for mechanical power but is exposed to the magnetic field. A low power factor causes the opposite direction of the voltage and current so that the multiplication does not produce power in watts but in volt-amperes. The effect of changes in capacitance values on the value of the power factor (Cos φ) and rotor induction motor efficiency of 1.1 kW rotor winding power, through experimental testing by varying the value of capacitance was conducted in this study. The experimental results show that the variation of capacitance values in the winding rotor of three phases induction motor produces a significant increase in the value of the power factor (Cos φ). For variations in capacitance values from 0 μF to 48.5 μF, the value of the power factor (Cos φ) increases from 0.64 to 0.99, but at the capacitance value 69.28, Cos φ reaches 0.95. For all capacitance values, the rotor efficiency is obtained by 96% due to the stator rotational field or synchronous speed (Ns) and the constant rotating speed of the rotor, so that the slip size is also constant.
