Abstract:	The purpose of this study is to analysis the level of poverty at household economic strata (income level and household expenditure) and then look for factors that cause the poverty. The results show that the amount of household income for the hamlet of Kranjang is 369.057.000 rupiahs/year or equivalent to 273.116 rupiahs per month until 59.226 rupiahs/month while for Waiheru village the income is 266.079.000 rupiah/year or equivalent to 194.479 rupiahs per month until 178.333 rupiahs per month which is sourced from the agricultural sector and nonfarm activity. While the amount of expenditure is 306.840.500 rupiahs/year in the Hamlet and Waiheru village is 214.259.500 rupiahs/ year which consist of food and non food. Factors that cause poverty is declining of crop productivity, difficulties of employment opportunity, the low education level of the head of household, community dependence on the natural and existing conditions, the cost of traditional rituals, limited access to capital (cash).
