Abstract: Problem Based Learning method is a method that has been implemented by the medical faculty of the University as a development method Pattimura Student Learning Center. In the implementation of PBL tutorials have important principle of learning, namely: constructive, independent, collaborative and contextual. Therefore, the effectiveness of PBL should be increased for the purpose of PBL itself can be achieved. Some of the factors supporting the effectiveness. PBL tutorial process is cognitive factors, motivational. To assess the effectiveness of the PBL tutorials were developed either by developing an evaluation method that is not only focused on the lecturer but can also be done by the student. With the evaluation method, the students are trained to self-assess the ongoing process of tutorials that are expected to assess any shortcomings that occur in the tutorial in terms of both cognitive and motivational aspects that are expected to meningatkan effectiveness of PBL. Implementation of self-assessment evaluation methods tutorial PBL Biomedical block 5, using a questionnaire modified from Tutorial Group Effectiveness Instrument (TGEI) which consists of 19 questions relating to cognitive assessment, motivation and demotivation aspects are assessed each end of the tutorial PBL Biomedical 5. Evaluation of the effectiveness of PBL assessment is that the majority of students gained 58.94% considered that PBL tutorials that lasted quite effective.
