Abstract:	The problem of axial vibration and torsional vibration at the ship propulsion system will analyze together with used the couple model, which representative of discrete system with multi degrees of freedom. The objective of this analysis is to know the influence of the inertia couple at the propeller to the natural frequency of the ship propulsion system. With the couple vibration analysis, we will get the values of natural frequency more correct, appeal if the analysis was done separately. In this paper, the axial and torsional vibration will be study first, and then the couple of them were done. Critical rotation will be expressed with know the value of the natural frequency of the ship propulsion system.
