Abstract: An experimental study was conducted to investigate effect of tube diameter (d) for buoyancy driven flow and free convection heat transfer from heat exchangers work. Model heat exchangers are made with arranged semicircular tube in isolator (Styrofoam), opposite other semicircular tube are closed with vertical plat in enclosure. Investigation experimental is made of the interaction between diameter tube (d) = 0,0064 to 0,0095 and mass flow rate constant on fluid temperature will be keep constant in 70o C. The experimental result demonstrated by the increasing tube diameter on mass flow rate constant, the characteristic of the heat exchanger; Reyleigh number (Ra), Nusselt number (Nu), convection coefficient (h), oil heat transfer rate (qoil) and plate heat transfer rate (qp) increase with the gradient increased significantly. Characteristics of maximum heat exchanger at tube diameter (d) = 0.0095 m and minimum at tube diameter (d) = 0.0064 m. The increasing tube diameter (d) on mass flow rate constant, the heat transfer characteristics of the accelerated i.e., Ra increased 19.43%, Nu increased 5.96%, h increased 5.90%, qoil increased 12.49% and qp increased 12.89%
