Abstract: Cowpea has a high diversity in term of seed color and shape, which is also expected to be true in term of yield. This study was aimed to obtain high-yielding local cowpea accessions. This study was conducted in a single factor experiment using a Randomized Block Design with three replicates. The plant materials consisted of ten cowpea accessions originating from the districts of Maluku Tenggara Barat and Maluku Barat Daya. The dependent variables that were observed included pod number per plant, pod length (cm), full seed number per pod, full seed weight per pod (g), weight of 100 seeds (g), weight of 1000 seeds per plot, and weight of above-ground plant parts (g). The data were analyzed using F test, and DMRT mean difference test. The results showed that there were variations among accessions in all yield components except for full seed number per pod. Meanwhile the DMRT test showed that the greatest pod numbers per plant were shown by KTm-5 accession. The longest pod was shown by KTm-2 and KTm-10. KTm-3, KTm-10, KTm-4 accessions showed the highest yield potentials based on the yield components of seed weight per pod, weight of 100 seeds, weight of 1000 seeds per plot. The least dry weight of above-ground plant parts (minus pods) was shown by KTm-10, KTm-3, KTm-7, and KTm-8. The prospective accessions found included KTm-10 and KTm-3 with expectable yield components and weights of above-ground plant parts, and KTm-5 with potentials for pod number per plant.
