Abstract: Cervical cancer incidence is high, but this organ provides a big opportunity in early detection. The prognosis depends on the stage of cancer where it is found, the patient age and type of histopatologic patterns. This study aims to determine the distribution age and histopatologic pattern of cervical cancer in Anatomical pathology Laboratory of A.W. Syahranie hospital, Samarinda, east Kalimantan. Related to patient prognosis forecasting and efforts to develop prevention strategies and early detection. Type a descriptive observational study using retrospective method. Registration materials in the form of cervical cancer cases are diagnosed in the laboratory PA A.W. Syahranie in period January 1 to December 31, 2005. There are 72 diagnosis, the details according the WHO criteria, namely: 1) Dysplasia 17 cases (23,61%), 2) carcinoma in situ (KIS) is not the case, 3) Type malignant 55 cases (66.67%), consisting of invasive adenocarcinoma (8,33%) and (c) Adenocarcinoma endometroid 1 case (1.39%). Highest incidence was found in the age group (44.45%) 16-30 year age group only 1 case (1.39%) and age > 60 years old there are 5 cases (6.94%). The youngest patient was 28 years old and the oldest 70 years. The conclusion that most cervical cancers are squamous cell carcinoma of the most common type of carcinoma without ceratination. This means that the prognosis of cervical cancer in areas categorized Kaltim, Samarinda especially bad because most cases are invasive carcinoma. Incidence of cervical cancer is much happening in the productive age group.
