Abstract: Fish resources are renewable resources. It means that the reduction in the number of individuals due to natural deaths and catches will renewable, reach the certain balance point according waters carrying capacity . Southeast Maluku regency is one of the district in Maluku that lies between the two WPP that are WPP 714 Banda Sea and WPP 715 Arafura Sea. Southeast Maluku is rich in potential fishery resources, one of these is small tuna resources. In support of sustainable resource management policy on small tuna (Auxis thazard) , of course, it is needed on the potential and the level information of utilization. The research objective is to estimate the potential of sustainable or maximum sustainable yield (MSY) and optimumeffort and the level of resource utilization tenggiri (Auxis thazard) in Southeast Maluku waters. Research conducted in the waters of Southeast Maluku regency in 2013, the data used is the data of catches and fishing effort of small tuna resources (Auxis thazard) with time series from 2008 until 2012. The approach used is surplus production models based on time series data on catches and fishing effort, with the analysis: Disequilibrium Schaefer Model. Based on the analysis on the obtained results that the sustainable potential ormaximum sustainable yieldof small tuna resources (Auxis thazard) in Sotheast Maluku regency is about 757,44 ton per year, with optimum effort about 1.869 unit trolling per year, while the new utilization rate only reached 94% of the potential for sustainability. However, when viewed from the effort of the actual catch is about 2,695 units, which is much above the optimum effort.
