| Abstract: | The synthesis of methyl myristet using catalyst CaO has been done. The reaction begins isolation of trimyristin from nutmeg with maseration using chloroform, then the transesterification of trimyristin using methanol and catalyst CaO. The result transesterification of trimyristin is analyzed using gas chromatography. Transesterfication using methanol yield methyl myristate compound is 1,78 g (89.02%) with 83.40% purity. Structure identification methyl myristate using FT-IR spectrophotometre and mass spectrophotometre. |
