Abstract: The existence of epiphytic microalgae attached to the surface of seagrass leaves has important benefits for seagrass ecosystems. However, it is can slow down the photosynthesis process for seagrass. This study aims to determine the composition of epiphytic microalgae and analyze its abundance on Enhalus acoroides leaves in the Waai Village Waters. Use a random method to determine 3 observation plots. Samples taken in each plot were then cut into three parts which are the tip, middle and base of the leaves with a size of 10 x 2 cm, then on the surface crust using a spoon to obtain epiphytic macroalgae. Identification using the Nikon Eclipse 50 microscope guided by the identification book. Abundance data were analyzed using the modification of Lackey Drop Microtransecting Method. Results showed that epiphytic microalgae found consisted of 11 genera belonging to 2 classes, 3 orders and 9 families. The highest abundance of epiphytic microalgae is represented by the genus Nitzschia which is predominantly found at the base of the leaf and lowest at the tip of the leaf. While the lowest abundance represented by the genus Climacodium because it is only found in the base of Enhalus acoroides leaves.
