Abstract: Competence is the ability of each individual that includes aspects of knowledge, skills and attitudes that work in accordance with established standards. However, it remains unknown how the relationship of human resource competencies to employee performance. This study aimed to obtain information about the respondents with regard to the relationship of human resource competencies to employee performance at PT. SDW. This research was conducted using survey methods with a sample of 5.5% (30 people) of 555 employees. Primary data was obtained through interviews and direct observation, and secondary data was obtained from the company and other agencies associated with the research. Results of studies showed that respondent distribustion based on of based human resources competence in the category of skills, attitudes, and knowledge was dominated by lower category as many as 15 repondents or 50% whereas the distribution of respondents based on the employee's performance for indicators of quantity of work, quality employment and labor discipline in PT. SDW, was dominated by 15 respondents or 50% that were categorized as quite good. Therefore relationship between competence and performance of employees at PT. SDW, was not significant.
