Abstract:	Different colors of jigs was applied to observe the catch of squid (Loligo sp). Squid (Loligo sp) is one of the marine resources which has been targeted by fishermen today traditionally using the light bulbs and spears. In modern way of fishing, jig are modified as a modern artificial bait in catching squid. Jigs color is known as an important factor affected catches. The purposes of this study are to determine the best jigs color as well as to determine the effective time of the squid fishing operation. This research was conducted by the experimental method using randomized design with treatment (t) for different color of jigs. the colors are yellow, blue, green and red which assembled randomly on 4 units of lines with 2 hours intervals of fishing time operation. The results showed the red, yellow, blue and green jigs caught 34, 24, 22 and 18 squids, respectively. . The fishing operation with most abundance of catch were at 10 pm â€“12 am, while at 6 pm to 8 pm and 4 am to 6 am is the smallest catches. The result of this study is expected to provide benefits for squid fishing communities by improving catches
