Abstract: This study aims to assess the effects of Compost made using the EM-4 and Promi bioactivators with different doses on the growth and yield of maize (Zea mays L.) on Dystrudepts soil. The research was conducted in the field using single factor experiment organized with Randomized Block Design. Factors tested treatment were type of EM-4 compost and promi compost, each consisted of 10 tons/ha, 20 tons/ha and 30 tons/ha. EM-4 compost and promi consists of: E0 = control, E1 = 3 kg/EM-4 compost plot, E2 = 6 kg/EM-4 compost plot, E3 = 9 kg/EM-4 compost plot, P0 = control, P1 = 3 kg/Promi compost plot, P2 = 6 kg/Promi compost plot, P3 = 9 kg/Promi compost plot. Research results indicated that treatments of EM-4 and promi compost increased the total-N, available P, and available K. Highest N-total was E1 0,27%; P2 0.27%, the lowest E0 and E2 0.23%; P0 0.16%, the highest available P - E3 20.67 ppm; P2 17.53 ppm, meanwhile the lowest E0 12.13 ppm; P3 14.07 ppm, the highest available K - E1 300 ppm; P2 197.33 ppm, the lowest E0 123 ppm; P0 123.67 ppm in the soil. While the highest N uptake were E3 4.16% and P1 4.42 %, the lowest E0 3.71% and P3 4.11%, the highest P uptake 0.18 E2% and P2 0.117%, the lowest E0 0.15% and P0 0.15%, the highest K uptake E0 1.58% and P2 1.90%, the lowest E3 1.53% and P3 1.58%. Furthermore, the treatment of EM-4 compost can improve plant growth ie plant height, number of leaves and stem diameter. The tallest plants E2167.02 cm and P3 163.31 cm, the lowest E1 159.49 cm; 147.67 cm, the highest number of leaves E3 13.07 and P3 12.87, lowest number of leaves E1 12.60 and P112.33 and largest diameter E2 1.69 cm and P3 1.70 cm, smallest E0 1.48 cm and P0 1.46 cm. Likewise the treatment of compost also improved the yield of corn: dry seed weight and 1000 seed dryweight. The highest were E2 393.33 g and P3 460 g, the lowest E0 273.33 g and P0 266.67 g. The highest dry weight of 1000 seeds were E3 283.33 g and P3 280 g, the lowest E0 and E2 236.67 g and P0 216.67 g.
