Abstract: Efforts to improve the performance of water turbines have become an important problem in researches on the hydraulic machinery industry. A low-speed runner of the Francis turbine must be designed and installed on a micro hydropower plant on the Tona river with a head of H=7 meters. To test the performance of the turbine, a turbine model with the impeller diameter of D1 = 0.105 meters was designed and tested in the laboratory. Tests are conducted to describe the performance of the turbine with variations in the shaft rotational speed values at the constant values of Head H = 7 meters and discharge Q = 0.0527 m3 / s. In the values of the specific speed coefficient ns = 28.6 ÷ 140.8, the values torque Mz was decreasing proportionally with the increase in rotational speed of the runner. The values of the turbine power increase from Pt = 390 to 750 Watt and reach the maximum value at the specific speed coefficient ns = 116.7. Turbine efficiency increases with a value of speed coefficient and reaches the maximum value at ns =105.6. This type of turbine will work optimally in the specific speed coefficient ns = 105.6.
