| Abstract: | This research was aimed to determine the optimal fertilizer concentration and time of fertilization for the growth of cacao seedlings and also to know the interaction between fertilizer concentration and application time on growth of caco seedling (Theobroma cacao L). This research was conducted in the glass house of the Faculty of Agriculture, Pattimura University, Ambon. Experimental design used in this research was Completely Randomized Design with three replicates. The first factor (K) was concentration the Green Tonik fertilizer, consisted of four concentration levels: 0 cc (without fertilizer), 2 cc l-1, 4 cc l-1, and 6 cc l-1. The second factor was fertilizer application time, consisted three times: at planting, 7 days after planting, 14 days after planting. Results of research indicated that fertilizer concentration of 4 cc l-1 was the best treatment in increasing the cacao root weight (2.578 g). Fertilizer application at 14 days after planting was the best application time because it improved the number of cacao leaves (9.583), and plant height (21.300 cm) at 30 days after planting. Besides, this treatment could also improve plant height (25.104 cm), number of roots ( 489.33), root weight (3.350 g) and above ground dry weight (12.707 g) at 60 days after planting. Fertilizer concentration of 4 cc/l applied at 14 days after planting could improve the number of leaves of cacao (11.000) at 30 days after planting, and also improved root weight (4.450 g) and above ground dry weight (16.950 g) at 60 days after planting. |
