Abstract:	The objective of this research is to evaluate the land suitability for determining the agriculture conservation types in the IPST Toisapu catchment area. This research used the descriptive comparative method, based on land physical characteristics such as soils, topography, geology and geomorphology. The data are collected by soil survey method, and free survey was used in space of observation, with the type of observation was used. The results of this research are: 1) The major limiting factors for perennial and annual crops were topography, effective soil depth, surface stone and erosion; 2) The actual land suitability for dry land food crops are S2tn, S3s, S3t, S3tse, N1t dan N2; meanwhile the actual land suitability for perennial plants are S2n, S2tne, S3s, S3t, S3te, S3teb, N1s and N2; and 3) There are three types of agricultural conservation, i. e. 1) intensive agriculture for perennial crops, 2) traditional agro-forestry (dusun), and 3) forest plantation type.
