Abstract: Padalarang-Cianjur national path street on 22+700 km is the place where always happens the frequent damages especially in wet season. It is indicated by the condition of street surface that has very distinctly large deformation. It displays in the wavy forms. It is also performed by instability of land at left and right sides of the street.The condition is worse by the existing of hugely calcium carbon-CaCO3 mining at the both sides of the street. The firing result of the mining, quicklime (oxide calcium-CaO), is just left remaining in nature. If it rains, the CaO will react with water (H2O) and produce hydroxide calcium (Ca(OH)2) that will infiltrate into land. Based on the reality, the writer puts big research on the influence of CaO towards the land strength especially the influence towards the shear strength (moving tension) of land. The power of shear strength also depends on the measurement of pore. The more the density, the higher the shear strength and conversely the less the density, the lower the shear strength. Solid land has large touching field. The shear strength is bigger if the area of touching field among pore is larger and normal tension is increasing.
